About Aldeia

A local directory of family services in Florianópolis — built by parents, for parents.

Why we exist

Raising kids in Florianópolis is wonderful, but finding the right services — a good cake maker, a trusted pediatrician, a swim school for little ones, a venue for the birthday — means jumping between WhatsApp groups, asking on Instagram, getting recommendations at the playground. The information exists; it's just scattered.

Aldeia brings it all into one place. More than 4100 businesses on the island, organized by category and neighborhood, with real Google ratings and direct contact — phone, WhatsApp, website, Instagram.

What you'll find here

We cover the full journey of a family in Florianópolis — from pregnancy through age twelve. Seven major areas:

  • Parties — cake makers, party venues, decorators, entertainers, photographers, musicians, toy rentals.
  • Activities — swimming, ballet, soccer, surfing, judo, kids' music, gymnastics.
  • Health & Pregnancy — obstetricians, ultrasound clinics, doulas, pediatricians, pediatric dentists, maternity photographers, prenatal yoga.
  • Education & Care — nurseries, daycares, preschools, bilingual schools, tutoring, private tutors and childcare.
  • Clothing & Layette — maternity clothing, kids' clothing, thrift shops and layette stores.
  • Outings & Places — family-friendly restaurants, real food, culture, playgrounds, toy libraries, libraries and museums.
  • Services — lawyers, notaries, accountants and maternity photographers.

Curation, not blind scraping

The initial list came from Google Maps, but every category went through manual review to filter the obvious: a pool builder doesn't show up under kids' swimming, an adult gym doesn't appear under children's gymnastics, a general practitioner isn't listed as a pediatrician.

We're not perfect. If something is wrong — a business closed, the category is off, info is missing — let us know.

The team

A small project in Florianópolis. The founder's first child arrives in August 2026 — Aldeia started as a personal research list and became a public project once it became clear something like this was missing in the city.
